Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been warned that they should not attempt to contact Princess Kate as she remains off-duty while recovering from abdominal surgery. The Princess of Wales has been absent from royal events since the procedure on January 16, with Kensington Palace advising that she will not be back at work until Easter at the earliest.
While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be planning to visit the UK again later this year, PR expert Ryan McCormick advised that they would be better off not speaking about Kate to avoid stirring up gossip.
He told The Mirror: “Harry and Meghan would be best suited to not make any public comments about Kate. Anything they say would be picked apart and if they wished Kate a quick recovery, people would start guessing about what’s going on behind the scenes.”
A royal spokesperson said in an update last week: “Kensington Palace made it clear in January the timelines of the Princess’ recovery and we’d only be providing significant updates. That guidance stands. The Princess of Wales continues to be doing well.”
