A driver who rear-ended another car on a Brooklyn expressway went into a road-rage frenzy when the victim tried to take a photo, attempting to run him over before speeding off with the victim clinging to the hood, police said Tuesday.
The chaos unfolded on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway near the Tillary St. exit just after 1:40 p.m. Sunday, when Jacob Angstadt, 27, behind the wheel of a Toyota Matrix, slammed into the back of a 34-year-old man’s car, cops said.
When the victim got out to take a photo of the driver, Angstadt became enraged, hit the gas pedal and sped toward him, police said.
Desperate to avoid being mowed down, the victim leapt onto the hood and clung on for nearly 330 feet until he was thrown from the car and onto the pavement.
He landed on the roadway, suffering serious injuries to his hands, arms and body as Angstadt sped away, according to cops.
Medics took the victim to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
Police on Tuesday identified Angstadt as the driver and released his photo in the hope the public could assist in locating him.
