Revolut launches rewards and discount scheme to help customers ‘get more for their money'

Finance app Revolut has launched a new debit loyalty card programme to allow customers to turn their everyday spending into rewards.

With the new scheme, eligible app users can gain coveted airline miles and exclusive discounts on travel, accommodation, and experiences through earning RevPoints – and no credit card is required to get involved.

Christopher Guttridge, general manager of lifestyle products at Revolut, said: “At Revolut we’re all about helping people get more for their money.

“RevPoints is set to transform everyday spending into things and experiences people love, by converting routine purchases into rewards.

“Unlike many loyalty programmes, we make RevPoints accessible to all by ensuring customers can maximise the benefits of using Revolut as their primary bank account without requiring a credit card.”

Depending on the plan, which includes Standard, Plus, Premium, Metal and Ultra, each with varying prices from free up to £45 a month, users can earn up to one point per pound spent.

They also have the opportunity to boost earnings even more by converting spare change into points, completing in-app challenges or on in-app bookings for stays and experiences.

New users can jump-start their journey with 3,000 points, which is equivalent to 3,000 air miles or up to £60 in travel discounts according to Revolut, after making 150 eligible transactions.

Users can also pocket up to 10,000 bonus points by upgrading their plan and meeting spending thresholds within the first 90 days.

Those on Revolut’s Ultra plan, which is priced at £45 a month, can earn even larger rewards.

Ultra plan customers who spend £2,500 a month could earn up to 30,000 RevPoints annually, which would be enough for a free round trip from London to New York or a £600 hotel discount.

Customers can transfer their RevPoints to more than 30 airline loyalty programmes, including British Airways Executive Club, and Flying Blue.

For everyday convenience and rewards, points can also be used for discounts at top brands such as French Connection and Dermalogica when shopping online with Revolut Pay.

Soon, Revolut says customers on Metal and Ultra plans will be able to benefit from new lifestyle enhancements depending on their plan type, such as access subscription-based sports publication The Athletic, as well as MasterClass, and a Premium membership on Chess.com.

Since the trial launch in September 2023, over one billion RevPoints have been earned and nearly 120 million points redeemed by Revolut users across seven European markets.
