Remove years of 'bad smells' from oven in 20 minutes using 3 natural ingredients

Ovens need cleaning regularly to stop food and grease building up and causing unpleasant smells in your kitchen.

Burnt smells coming from your oven are the result of food that has overspilled while cooking. If you’re oven starts to stink, it’s time to give it a deep clean.

Before you reach for the store-bought chemical cleaner, try a quick and simple “mixture” using natural ingredients that promises to rid it of any bad odours.

Cleaning experts at Magic Hands Creations shared the 20-minute method that uses lemons, vinegar, and baking soda.

Sharing a video on Facebook, they explained that not only does this mixture of natural ingredients banish any “bad food smells”, it can also help clean the oven.

To try the clever hack, simply fill an oven or baking tray with water, vinegar a sprinkle of baking soda and some lemon slices.

Next, set the oven to a high and wait for 20 minutes for the mixture to work it’s magic.

After the time is up, take the tray out of the oven. At this stage, the mixture should have loosened any grime and grease on the oven walls, which can simply be wiped away with a cloth.

Baking soda and lemon are a natural deodorizer that can help absorb unpleasant smells, leaving your oven smelling fresh again.

People took to the comment sot praise the hack, adding their take on the cleaning method.

Liz Clive said: “We have another solution a Pyrex dish half filled with boiling water and put in a dishwasher tablet and place in oven heated to 90 degrees for 2 hours and all you have to do is wipe clean with water.”

Margaret Taylor said: “I’ve used vinegar, water and baking soda and sprayed it onto a cold oven. Leave for about 30 minutes and wipe clean. Sometimes I do it after cooking while oven is still hot. Works well. Just wipe with microfibres cloth rinsed in clean water.”
