Social media influencer Mrs Hinch, otherwise known as Sophie Hinchcliffe, has inspired millions of people to spruce up their homes with her nifty cleaning tips and tricks.
Loyal Mrs Hinch fans are now swapping their own cleaning solutions in Facebook groups dedicated to home tidiness.
One member of such a group, Amy Sarah Swift, sought advice for removing persistent marks from an electric hob that don’t seem to budge no matter how hard you try.
Amy wrote: “Looking for suggestions… what will get rid of these cooking scorch marks from an electric hob?
“No matter how much I clean it, or what I try, I can’t seem to get them off and they look awful.”
Fellow cleaning fanatics quickly jumped in with their top tips and favoured methods. Lesley Norris Adams remarked: “I use The Pink Stuff on mine; the paste not the spray, and it always comes up clear and clean.”
Another devotee, Pippa agreed, saying: “Pink Stuff paste and a grill pad is amazing for this.”
Other members highlighted the benefits of a damp microfibre cloth. Kelsey White suggested a “damp microfibre cloth” on the particular area with The Pink Stuff.
Cheryl, another member, proposed a different approach: “Toothpaste and a damp cloth – give it a good rub then buff.”
Many chimed in recommending a hob scraper for the task. Clare stated: “Give a hob scraper a go. You will be surprised!”
Somebody else remarked: “I use elbow grease… a hob scraper will remove the marks as it’s burnt on, but be careful not to push too hard and damage the glass though.”
Another commentator recommended Astonish Hob Cleaner, which is considered to be the “only thing” that works.
Other recommendations included Stove Glass Cleaner and Hob Brite, with further mentions of Astonish Hob Cleaner.
