Red Dead Redemption 2 UPDATE: Red Dead Online news and shock Rockstar rumours

Red Dead Redemption 2 Online is getting more major updates in 2019 that will help push the game further away from its beta issues.

Having officially left the testing phase, Rockstar Games has revealed their plans for Red Dead Online in 2019.

Right now, fans can enjoy a host of new content, including new story missions, dynamic free roam events and the launch of Poker online.

Fans have been won over by the new missions and things to do, but they are also happy to see Rockstar tackling the issues of griefing online.

And there are a few other good reasons to log in this weekend, as Red Dead Online players will be gifted 15 Gold Bars, as well as a 25% XP increase on A Land of Opportunities, Free Roam Missions/Events, Showdown Modes and Races.

Treasure hunters will also find 25% extra Cash and Gold in chests containing them, so that’s a great combo of bonuses to get you back in the Wild West.

And new Red Dead Redemption 2 updates are also being planned for the remainder of May 2019.

New Free Roam characters and Showdown modes have been confirmed, some of which will be launching on May 21.

PS4 gamers can also look forward to more Early Access content, which has yet to be revealed.

Head for the Hills Showdown Mode will also be launching before the end of the month, followed by the Public Enemy Showdown Mode and Railroad Baron Free Roam Event in June.

And here’s what will be coming in July and beyond, with Rockstar Games confirming in a new statement: “Starting this summer, players will be able to take on the first three of a series of new roles: track down wanted criminals as a bounty hunter; search the world for treasure, and other exotic items to sell as a collector; or build a business at camp as a trader and more.

“Each new role will come with a range of unique gameplay along with a host of new outfits, weapons and other rewards to earn. Players will have the option to focus on a specific role to advance quickly and unlock each role’s unique attributes, or simultaneously progress across multiple roles as you play naturally to create your own unique character and path through the frontier.

It follows shock rumours connecting Rockstar Games with a new reveal during E3 2019. In a post that has since been deleted on Reddit, one user claimed that Rockstar would blindside fans with a big announcement.

This would be surprising as while Rockstar has been linked to big reveals during the LA expo before, they have never announced anything major during one.

But having had to wait six years since the original release of GTA 5, the timing seems right for GTA 6 news. The same Reddit user claims to be working for a company that is building a landing page for Rockstar parent company Take-Two.

This is the same unannounced game that is said to be coming to E3 2019, and while a GTA 6 reveal would be the dream scenario, some fans believe Bully 2 could be the next game on Rockstar’s books.

This follows other rumours that have linked Rockstar Games with launching Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC. The original Red Dead Redemption never made the leap and gamers are desperate to see the sequel announced to see what it can achieve on the platform.

And there’s no doubt that the modding community are itching to test their skills. New reports this week will give PC players hope that a port is being worked on, following news of a recent find.

An official Linked In page has been found for a physics programmer that lists Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC as a project they have worked on, along with the console versions.

It’s not official proof that Rockstar Games is currently working on RDR2 for PC, but it can only be seen as a good sign that something is happening.

All of these latest reports need to be taken with a big pinch of salt, as Rockstar has made no announcements on either RDR2 on PC or GTA 6.

However, what we do know for sure is that Red Dead Redemption 2 Online just took a massive leap on the path to becoming what gamers were originally hoping for.
