Reality star and singer Ray J says someone “shot at” him in attempt to take his life.
In a video shared on Instagram, Ray J claimed he was targeted by unnamed people who he says were attempting to kill him. “N***as just tried to shoot me and tried to kill me n***a and you want me to apologize n***a?,” he said in the video.
Ray J says the gunfire was tied to a feud, although he didn’t give details about the motive or parties involved. But he signed off the video with a clear message to the unknown assailants, shouting “F*** you” while pointing at the camera.
This comes just weeks after Ray J found himself in an altercation with Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sons Christian, Quincy, and Justin at a Halloween party in Los Angeles. At the time, sources told TMZ the Bad Boy mogul’s kids were upset about public remarks Ray J made about their father’s sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
The source also said that Chris Brown and his manager David Weintraub had to break up the fight.
Ray J spoke about the situation in a conversation with Wack 100 on Instagram live. “I moved away from it,” he told Wack. “I tried to talk some sense into what happened. Luckily, the homie Chris was there.”
It’s unclear if the shooting is related to this altercation.
The “One Wish” singer also also recently had words for pastor Jamal Bryant this week concerning an unreleased interview he recorded for his podcast, “Jamal Bryant podcast.”
On Tuesday, Ray J urged the pastor not to release the interview. “I got nothing but love for Pastor Bryant,” he said before adding, “Don’t play the interview, it’s not cleared, it’s out of bounds. Me and Pastor Bryant need to talk because the way I was treated was dirty and illegal.”
“And I don’t like it and I don’t want nobody to play that f**king interview — I don’t care if you from the church or not,” he continued. “Be respectful and do people right. Don’t call people out they name, don’t make people feel like they not safe in a place that they thought they were safe. I’m telling you right now, we need to work it out because if we don’t, it’s gon’ be a problem.“
The interview has not yet aired.
