The presenter, 32, announced she had met the winner of Crufts 2019 when she recorded The Jonathan Ross Show earlier this week. Rachel Riley shared a behind-the-scenes picture with her 363,000 Instagram followers, joking: “I don’t normally like to name drop but I did get licked by this megastar this week! Spent a good hour with Dylan the Villain AKA Crufts new regaining champion — he’s gorgeous!,”(sic) she added. “We’re on Jonathan Ross tomorrow (Saturday) on ITV at 9.30pm, well worth a watch, twas a very funny record.”(sic)

The snap showed Rachel leaning in for a selfie with the award-winning pooch on the sofa at The Jonathan Ross Show.

The Countdown favourite beamed, looking delighted to be petting Dylan.

The Papillon was named Best in Show at Crufts last weekend after being crowned the winner of the Toy group.

Fans rushed to the comments section to remark on her upload, with one saying cheekily: “So cute… and the dog.”

“Beautiful creatures,” another agreed, while a third joked flirtatiously: “Bright eyes, shiny coat, wet nose, what a specimen. And the dog is cute as well.”

Dressed in a black and red dress, Rachel oozed glamour and accessorised with statement drop earrings.

She ramped up the sex appeal with sultry smokey eye make-up, wearing her blonde locks swept back into an up ‘do.

On The Jonathan Ross Show, which airs later tonight, Rachel told the host, 58, about when she first got the job on Countdown after Carol Vorderman, 58, left the Channel 4 show.

“I finished uni in the June, over the summer I was applying for loads of grad jobs,” she said. “And Countdown wanted 50 words and a photo.

“They were talking about big shoes to fill, so I said, ‘I’m a maths geek, I love the show, I’m an Essex girl so why not fill them with some white stilettos?’”

Rachel has performed the letters and numbers duties on Countdown since 2009, shortly after Carol departed following 26 years at the helm.

In 2012, her role expanded to include Countdown’s post-watershed comedy spin-off 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, on which she appears alongside Jimmy Carr, 46, Sean Lock, 55, Jon Richardson, 36, and Dictionary Corner favourite Susie Dent, 54.

The following year, she joined the line-up on Strictly Come Dancing, where she was partnered with with professional dancer Pasha Kovalev, 38.

Rachel subsequently split from her husband and later struck up a romance with Pasha.

The couple have been together ever since and she has taken several trips to her beau’s native Russia, as well as starting to learn the language.

The Jonathan Ross Show airs tonight at 9.30pm on ITV.
