Air fryers have become extremely popular in recent years thanks to their ability to cook foods faster, helping households to save energy and money.
Lots of foods can be cooked in the appliance, including pitta pizzas, chicken, sausages and even brownies.
If you’re looking for a quick lunch option to cook for yourself or the whole family, this pitta pizza recipe may be a good option.
They only require three food items including pitta breads, pizza sauce and cheese, plus any toppings you may wish to add.
If you wish to make the pitta bread from scratch, flour and Greek yoghurt make a delicious base.
Ingredients:
Pitta bread, white or wholemeal, if making homemade, Greek yoghurt and plain flour
Pizza tomato sauce
Grated cheddar or mozzarella cheese
Method:
Start by simply spreading the tomato sauce on top of your chosen pitta bread, flatbreads work nicely too.
Next, sprinkle on some salt and pepper if you fancy before adding your chosen cheese.
I opted to leave mine like this but you can also add any vegetables, ham or chicken if you want.
I then set the air fryer to 180C and placed the pitta pizzas into the air fryer for just four minutes.
After four minutes, the cheese had melted nicely and the pittas had crisped up, and they were delicious.
If you fancy making the pitta bread yourself, simply mix together some plain flour and Greek yoghurt until a dough-like consistency is formed.
You can then either pre-toast these in a pan or put them straight into the air fryer with your chosen toppings.
These pizza pittas worked out at under 50p each and they’re great for children too.
