It’s no secret Freddie loved a good joke. Even better, if there was a naughty nickname – the camper the better. Adam Lambert has been an integral part of the staggering revival of the band’s international profile as they continue the huge North American leg of their Queen + Adam Lambert world tour. British fans still anxiously await new about any European dates but May and Taylor have been keeping their followers happy worldwide with constant social media updates. Early this morning (or late last night in the States) the guitar legend posted a new hilarious clip with adorable comments about their new frontman.
Fans have constantly been moved by the way May refers to Taylor as his best friend and brother. But now Lambert has been officially brought into the family.
In a new Instagram post, May wrote: “Ha ha ha !!! I don’t know where this originated – but I had to repost it. Priceless – a great reminder of what stupendously good value Madam Lambert is as an entertainer !!! All Hail our slightly younger brother !!! Bri.”
He is referring to a short clip of the band performing Somebody To Love. Watch it below and you’ll see what he means.
BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY: THERE WERE NO TRICKS TO WHY QUEEN SOUNDED BETTER AT LIVE AID, THIS IS WHY
The short video shows why Lambert is the perfect successor to Freddie.
The nickname Madam Lambert has been around for a few years now. May used it previously when he described how he and Taylor knew they had found something special – and why Freddie joking would have “hated” Adam.
In the 2017 book Queen in 3-D, May talked about how they first heard about Lambert and the way the new frontman carved his own place in the Queen landscape.
May said; “Roger and I have seen literally thousands of singers in our lifetimes including some great ones auditioning for our We Will Rock You show (which, did I mention, ran for 12 solid years in The Dominion Theatre on the Tottenham Court Road in London?) but we’ve never seen or heard anything like Adam.
