The Queen reportedly leaves presents by Prince George’s bed every time he stays over at Buckingham Palace.

George, who turns six tomorrow , is apparently the 93-year-old’s favourite and she “goes out of her way to spend time with him.”

The youngster has come up with the nickname “Gan Gan” for Her Majesty, which has reportedly helped endear him even further to the head royal.

A royal insider told Fabulous Magazine : “The doting Queen takes time to select little presents that she leaves at the foot of George’s bed every time he stays over.”

The insider, who says they have watched the third in line to the throne growing up, say the “shy” youngster is “very much his own man” and warms to people once he knows he can trust them.

George will reportedly celebrate his birthday with a small family gathering at Anmer Hall – the Cambridges’ Norfolk estate, according to the royal insider.

New pictures of George were released tonight in celebration of the special day.

The three informal family photos were taken by his mother the Duchess of Cambridge , a keen amateur photographer.

In one snap the cheeky Prince is rolling in the grass as he plays in the garden at their home at Kensington Palace.

Dressed casually in a white England shirt, the schoolboy appears to be following in the footsteps of his football-loving dad Prince William, who is president of the FA and an Aston Villa supporter.

A second photograph shows the future King grinning gleefully at the camera in his football kit, proudly showing off a missing tooth.

While George may be the Queen’s favourite, the royal insider also claimed that Prince has favourites of his own too – and his number one uncle is allegedly Mike Tindall because he doesn’t take himself seriously.

They also said his favourite past times include ‘spending time with his mum, cooking pizzas from scratch and pottering about in the garden’ much to the delight of his gradfather The Prince of Wales, who is said to be happy about his love for the outdoors.

But the real challenge for his parents is to motivate him when he ‘has already been handed a deck of cards packed with aces,’ the source claims.
