PS5 State of Play event UK time and stream – Silent Hill, PS5 Pro, Astro and Bloodborne

If you’re a PlayStation fan looking to find out more about what games you’ll be playing later this year, then Sony’s imminent State of Play event is must-see viewing. After weeks of rumours, leaks and speculation, Sony has finally announced plans to hold a State of Play video game showcase on May 30 at 11pm BST UK time. According to Sony, the showcase will focus on upcoming PS5 and Playstation VR 2 games, not to mention PlayStation Studios games arriving later this year. Running for around 30 minutes, the State of Play event will shed light on 14 different games for PS5 and PSVR 2. And don’t worry about seeking out a live stream for tonight’s State of Play event, because you can watch the entire thing as it happens by clicking play on the YouTube video below. Daily Express will also keep this article updated with all of the announcements, so keep checking back for more information.

In terms of what fans can expect, one game that will almost certainly make an appearance is Destiny 2 and its upcoming Final Shape expansion.

The next major Destiny 2 add-on has a June 4 release date on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. With Sony acquiring development studio Bungie, a gameplay preview and trailer is likely to appear during tonight’s State of Play.

Unfortunately, however, the impact of the Destiny 2 Final Shape preview may be lessened by the fact that access to the expansion was mistakenly leaked early to some players.

This has led to major spoilers appearing online, concerning everything from the campaign narrative, to the new weapons, items and even Raid details.

Another game expected to make an appearance during the event is Silent Hill 2, as Sony gets ready to reveal the release date for the upcoming survival horror remake.

Even if Silent Hill 2 doesn’t appear during the State of Play event, Konami is holding a deep dive event of its own following tonight’s broadcast. It’s likely a trailer will be shown during the State of Play event, followed by a closer look at the game and other Silent Hill projects at 11.50pm during Konami’s Silent Hill Transmission.

You can watch the Silent Hill Transmission live by hitting play on the video below.

Another game that’s a dead cert to appear at the State of Play event is the new Astro Bot release.

Initially leaked by industry insider Billbil-Kun, it’s unclear if the new Astro Bot game will be playable on PS5, PSVR 2, or both.

Elsewhere, Sony is expected to officially announce God of War Ragnarok for PC. Of course, judging by the fact that it’s trending again, most PlayStation fans (myself included) will be praying for a Bloodborne port, or even a PS5 upgrade.

Then there are the previously announced PS5 games, including Death Stranding 2, Wolverine and Concord.

With Microsoft beginning to port some of its biggest first-party games to other platforms, I wouldn’t be too surprised if another Xbox exclusive was announced for PS5 (maybe Starfield), although this could also happen during the Xbox event in June.

Outside of new game reveals, Sony is also expected to unveil the PS5 Pro, which is expected to launch before Christmas.
