PS Plus September 2024 free PS4 and PS5 games – Atomic Hearts, Quidditch Cup and Gris

Sony is getting ready to officially reveal the PlayStation Plus Essentials line-up for September 2024. The next wave of free PS4 and PS5 games will be unveiled at 4.30pm BST UK time on the afternoon of August 28. Subscribers will have to wait another week for the games to actually join the service, with the PS4 and PS5 games coming to PlayStation Plus on the morning of September 3. Interestingly, Sony has already announced one of the games joining PS Plus in September. In fact, the first game coming to PS Plus in September is a brand new release set in the Harry Potter universe.

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions will be available to PS Plus Essential subscribers from September 3 until October 1.

Playable solo or with friends via online multiplayer, Quidditch Champions lets fans play in a variety of different positions, including Chaser, Seeker, Keeper and Beater

According to the development team, the game features a selection of legendary Quidditch arenas, as well as “maps that showcase never-before-seen areas of the wizarding world”.

As for the other two PS Plus Essentials, fans have been attempting to predict the games in the monthly predictions thread over on Reddit.

The overwhelming favourite to join PS Plus is third-person action game Atomic Heart, which is leaving Xbox Game Pass at the end of August. This has led to speculation that it’s bound for PlayStation Plus in September.

Despite middling reviews at launch, Atomic Heart has gained something of a cult following, to the point that it now boasts a ‘Very Positive’ score on Steam.

While there are reservations about how the game plays, the steampunk world, abilities and enemy design has earned praise from fans.

Another game with multiple predictions is Gris, which is a critically-acclaimed 2D adventure game that packs an emotional punch.

Other games featured in the predictions list include Sonic Frontiers, as well as the likes of Dead Space, WWE 2K24, Forspoken, and Suicide Squad.

Another game that seems to be cropping up a lot is Viewfinder, which is a first-person puzzle game with some really clever gameplay.

That’s on top of Like a Dragon Ishin, Far Cry 6, Resident Evil Village, any number of LEGO games, Little Nightmares 2 and Hot Wheels Unleashed 2.

Daily Express will be back with the full line-up following the official announcement on August 28. We’ll also keep this article updated with all the latest leaks and developments, so keep checking back for more information.
