PS Plus Extra May 2024 games line-up – Hades, Resident Evil Village and Cult of Lamb

PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers are just a few days away from finding out which games will be joining the service in May 2024. The next batch of PS Plus Extra games will be officially unveiled at 4.30pm BST UK time on the afternoon of May 15. The games will be available to download and play less than a week later, on the morning of May 21. The PS Plus Extra line-up consists of a number of PS4 and PS5 games, while the Premium selection is made up of a handful of retro releases. We’ve actually already had one game join PS Plus Extra this month, after critically-acclaimed platformer Animal Well joined the service on May 9. With the remaining games shrouded in mystery, PS Plus Extra subscribers have been attempting to predict the line-up ahead of the big reveal.

In a regular predictions thread over on Reddit, multiple PlayStation Plus subscribers believe Resident Evil Village will finally join PS Plus Extra in May.

Resident Evil Village launched almost three years ago to the day, so it feels like now would be a good time for the game to join PS Plus Extra.

The Capcom survival horror game is reminiscent of Resident Evil 4, taking place in an old-fashioned European village plagued by monsters.

It’s another fantastic entry in the long-running horror franchise, featuring excellent visuals, some memorable characters, and more than a handful of scares.

As an added bonus, Resident Evil Village is playable in virtual reality, supporting Sony’s PSVR 2 device.

Other Reddit users believe the Final Fantasy franchise will be represented in the May PS Plus Extra line-up.

With multiple Final Fantasy games leaving PS Plus Extra on May 21, some fans believe that Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion could join the line-up, alongside the Pixel Remasters and perhaps even Final Fantasy 16.

While I definitely don’t think we’ll be getting Final Fantasy 16, the other games seem like solid choices to join PS Plus Extra.

There are also multiple picks for roguelike action game Hades, which would certainly make sense given the timing.

Hades 2 has just entered early access on PC, so there’s a lot of buzz surrounding the series. Making the original Hades available on PS Plus Extra would give PS4 and PS5 users the chance to experience the first game ahead of the sequel’s full release.

Other picks for PS Plus Extra in May include indie hit Cult of the Lamb, as well as Dead Island 2, a Call of Duty games, plus Like a Dragon Ishin!

Then there are the usual suspects like Sonic Frontiers, Forspoken and Nier Automata.

With Horizon Zero Dawn also scheduled to leave the service on May 21, some people think Sony will replace it with a different first-party blockbuster, specifically God of War Ragnarok.

Daily Express will be back with the official line-up on May 15.
