A Greek beach has been highlighted as one of the world’s most expensive when it comes to spending the night in the area.
Platis Gialos Beach in Mykonos, Greece, has earned a spot in the list, according to TravelMag.
TravelMag’s ranking placed Platis Gialos Beach as the 17th costliest, with the lowest rate for a double room nearby averaging £230 per night.
Mykonos, renowned for its stunning beaches, remains a top choice for sun-seekers and relaxation enthusiasts.
The island’s charm draws visitors from around the globe, but the high costs associated with staying at Platis Gialos Beach may make it a splurge-worthy destination.
TravelMag’s survey included in its analysis international destinations featuring at least 20 hotels or inns and a beach.
The magazine calculated the average price for the least expensive double room in each location for August 2023.
All the hotels assessed were three-star or higher, and located near the beach or city centre.
The top spot on the list went to Nantucket Town on Nantucket Island, south of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, with an average nightly rate of £533.
Close behind is Positano on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, with an average rate of £370 per night.
Saint-Tropez, the famous French resort town, holds the fourth spot with an average nightly rate of £340
Mykonos is famed for being a glamorous holiday destination often frequented by celebrities such as Matt Damon and the Hemsworth brothers.
However, Mykonos can also cater to budget-conscious travellers with some strategic planning – especially out of peak season.
