Golden Gezzy
Amongst all the excitement over the top four and latest Luke vs Luke battle, Gerwyn Price chucked in a 9-darter against Stephen Bunting.
He’d go on to lose the game but given he’s already qualified, it’s unlikely he’ll care too much.
That’s his second of this Premier League season and sees him collect another set of £30,000 gold darts from sponsors, BetMGM.
Price said: “Another loss with a nine-darter so it’s bittersweet. I’m happy to hit it but I had chances in that game to win as well – it would have been a bit better if I won the match as well.
“Yeah I’ll aim to get another one [nine-darter] next week as well, then I’ll get one in London too. It’ll be well worth playing in this BetMGM Premier League then won’t it?”
Brand Director at BetMGM, Dan Towse, said: “The standard of darts this BetMGM Premier League season is right up there with the best we’ve seen and remarkably Gerwyn Price’s nine-darter in Aberdeen this evening means we’ve now seen five this year!
“Of course, he receives another set of 18ct gold darts and while we’ve got only two weeks of action left, you can’t rule it out happening again!”

All smiles
A delighted Nathan Aspinall collecting his trophy.
His second nightly win of this Premier League campaign and does so despite big odds for him to do so.

‘Beating Michael was big’
The Asp continued: “That was a big game after beating Michael, and I’ve not played amazing tonight, but what I’ve done tonight is I’ve been composed. I’ve not celebrated, I’ve kept myself in the moment.
“When things aren’t going well, the crowd have helped me by cheering my name, and there’s been a couple of legs where I’ve been a bit rubbish at the finishing, but apart from that, I think my finishing’s been pretty bang-on tonight.”
‘Composed tonight’
Nathan Aspinall said tonight was a new night after ‘bottling it’ last week.
He told Sky Sports: “I felt really confident coming into tonight. Obviously, last week I should have beaten Littler, and I’m not afraid to admit I bottled it last week, I knew the importance of it, but tonight’s a new night.
“I knew I’ve had the better of Michael [Van Gerwen] over the last few weeks, and I thought I was really composed in that game against Michael.
“Fair play to Michael after the game, he went: ‘Your finishing was fantastic,’ and then I thought it really meant nothing unless I won my next game. If I won my next game, he has to make the final [next week].”
Those final fixtures
Here’s the four quarter finals for next week at Sheffield as the league phase of the BetMGM Premier League comes to a close.
- Luke Littler vs Stephen Bunting
- Nathan Aspinall vs Michael van Gerwen
- Luke Humphries vs Rob Cross
- Gerwyn Price vs Chris Dobey

Premier League table
Here is that Premier League table with Luke Littler confirmed as finishing on top of the pile.
Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price are also already qualified, with Nathan Aspinall and Michael van Gerwen going head-to-head for that fourth spot.
A big night too for Chris Dobey, who moves clear of the wooden spoon race….
