A POPULAR fast food joint has quietly shut another popular location just months after a wave of mass closures.
Locals have given mixed reactions over what is replacing it, as the fast food industry takes yet another turn.

An eagle eyed foodie in Somerset, Kentucky spotted that their local Subway has closed, and will be replaced by a Mexican restaurant.
Looking at the sign in the window, it looks as if the spot will be taken over by a Mariachi Taqueria & Restaurante.
There is no date advertised for when the spot will open.
The caption of the Facebook post from Tuesday announcing it expressed displeasure at the Subway closure.
It said: “At Christmas I reported that the Subway by my Walmart here in Somerset Kentucky had closed.
“It’s being replaced with you guessed it Mexican restaurant number 1,678,894 here in Pulaski County.”
The comments on the post were a bit happier about the news.
One person said: “I love Mexican food.”
Another passionate fan wrote: “No such thing as too many taco joints.”
But one person agreed with the captions sentiment: “Sounds like my closest town.
“There aren’t really any sit down restaurants and no amusement places, since they closed the bowling alley and the movie theater, but we have 3 or 4 Mexican restaurants, a half dozen fast food places and a half dozen banks.
“They keep talking about how they’re fixing stuff up trying to get more tourists to come and wanting high-end stores to move here, but there’s literally no other reason for anyone to come to that town.”
The US Sun reported in 2024 that Subway became the latest company to announce closures.
Roughly two dozen Subway locations closed down across two states, leaving over 200 employees jobless.
The closures spanned from Bend, Oregon to Vancouver, Washington.

A Subway in Gladstone, Oregon, south of Portland, has a sign on the door that reads: “This location is temporarily closed.
“Stay healthy and see you soon!”
Joanne Kennedy, the manager of the Gladstone location, told KPTV news came with “No warning, no heads up, no transparency, completely and totally blindsided, every one of us.”
She said that things began to shift when the food orders she placed were not arriving.
Joanne added: “There was no communication, there was just, ‘Keep doing your job, business as usual.’
“That’s what I was told, business as usual, they’re looking for a resolution for the food order.
“We were all trading food in between stores trying to keep everyone’s doors open, and then no food came.”
