THE fan who terrifyingly fell out of the stands at PNC Park is awake and responsive.
Kavan Markwood, who fell 21 feet onto the field at a Pittsburgh Pirates game, suffered multiple life threatening injuries.

Family and friends of Markwood, 20, are calling his recovery “nothing short of miraculous.”
Markwood was left in critical condition after he fell onto the field on Wednesday, April 30.
He was attended to by team medical officials before being carted off the field and rushed to the hospital.
There, doctors determined that Markwood suffered a broken neck, back, and collarbone.
While the injuries were terrifying, he is now awake and responsive in the hospital.
“We are so relieved and grateful to share some encouraging news about Kavan,” Markwood’s GoFundMe organizer Jennifer Phillips said.
“As of this morning, Kavan is awake, alert, and able to speak.
“After everything he’s been through since the accident on Wednesday night, this progress feels nothing short of miraculous.”
Markwood’s GoFundMe has nearly hit its goal, reaching over $47,000 in donations.
In recent days the family has also shared that he has also taken his first steps since falling onto the field.
“Kav took his first steps today!” Phillips wrote.
“It’s a slow slow process, but seeing him up and moving was a huge win and definitely lifted everyone’s spirits.”
She also said that “he still has a long way to go” and to “please keep those prayers coming.”
Markwood was attending the Pirates game with his girlfriend and a friend.

Players and coaches on the field saw the incident and were visibly shaken by what happened.
Pirates owner Bob Nutting released a statement regarding the accident after the game.
“We are all deeply saddened and truly heartbroken after the terrible accident that occurred tonight,” he said.
“It was one of the most difficult moments many of us have ever experienced.
“We are devastated.”
