PITTSBURGH Pirates legend Andrew McCutchen couldn’t believe the scene in which a fan fell from the stands during a game.

A Pirates fan is in critical condition in the hospital after falling over the right field wall during a game against the Chicago Cubs at PNC Park.

During the seventh inning, McCutchen hit a ball that hit Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson’s glove before going to the outfield.

The hit scored two runs to give the Pirates a 4-3 lead, but it was quickly overshadowed by a scary event.

During the play, a fan fell from the 21-foot Roberto Clemente Wall, which is the right field wall, before landing on the warning track.

After the scary fall, paramedics, police, and medical staff from both teams rushed to help the fan who was lying on the ground.

The fan was being helped for close to five minutes as players stopped to watch the horror scene.

McCutchen was spotted in disbelief as his head was in his hands after the incident.

The five-time MLB All-Star also held a cross that hung from his neck.

McCutchen and players from both teams were seen praying.

The fan was eventually carted off the field and sent to a nearby hospital, and the game resumed shortly thereafter.

After the Pirates’ win, the team released a statement, saying that the fan received medical attention from both the Pirates and Cubs athletic training teams and PNC Park personnel, who “reacted and responded immediately and administered care.

“He was transported to Allegheny General Hospital.

“No further information is available at this time.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Pittsburgh Police VCU later shared that they are investigating the situation after the fan was left in “critical condition.”

McCutchen told reporters after the game that the team’s players and he didn’t want to talk about the fan falling, per Justin Guerriero of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Later Wednesday night, McCutchen posted a message about the situation on X, sending prayers to the fan.

“Truly hate what happened tonight,” McCutchen wrote.

“Cant help but think about that guy, his family and friends.

“I pray tonight for him. Let us think about his loved ones and hug our families a little tighter tonight.

“I hope he pulls thru.

“May God Bless you all. Good night.”
