The Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed early Tuesday, March 26, 2024, after a cargo ship slammed into it, sending dozens of people into the chilly waters below. The container ship hit the bridge around 1:30 a.m., triggering the bridge to crumple and the ship to catch fire. Search efforts are underway to rescue the people whose cars fell into the Patapsco River.
