Philips electric shaver with 'self-sharpening' blades 'performs like new every day'

An electric shaver is not the kind of purchase you want to skimp on. After all, anyone who grows facial hair will likely be using it a whole lot – whether that’s to go clean-shaven, or to trim their beard – and you want to be able to do a good job of things.

Luckily, Amazon has a brilliant deal on a bestselling model, saving you a bit of money on a gadget that should last you for years to come. Ahead of Prime Day – fast approaching on October 8-9 – Amazon has slashed the price of the Philips Electric Shaver 3000 Series from £199.99 down to £52.99. That’s a massive cut of over half price – but the deal likely won’t last long, so you’ll have to act fast to jump on it.

This high-tech gadget promises to give you a smooth and clean shave, without nicks or scrapes. As it’s electric, you’ll save yourself a whole lot of time compared to using a traditional manual razor, and with up to two-years of self-sharpening blades, upkeep on the shaver really is minimal.

You can use the gadget wet or dry, depending on your preference, and the head pivots to give you the closest shave possible. All that, and there’s even a pop-up trimmer – so you can get really precise on things like sideburns or moustaches.

Just over 2,000 customers have rated the shaver on Amazon, awarding it an average of 4.5 stars out of 5. So what did people who’ve actually used it have to say?

“This shaver makes a daily task simple and effective. The battery charging is fast and the cleaning quick and easy,” one shopper said. “Brilliant shaver. Shaves beautifully close and smoothly and easy to maintain,” another added.

“Charges quickly and holds charge for unexpectedly long time. Gives a nice, quick, clean, non-irritating shave,” a third chimed in.

However, some had more critical notes to share, which are worth paying attention to. “Only minor disappointment is that it does not include a pouch,” one customer warned. Another added: “The shaver doesn’t include the usual small cleaning brush, and its charger requires a USB connection plug which also isn’t provided.”

If you really wanted to splash out on an electric shaver, the Braun Series 9 Pro model packs a big punch, and is currently reduced from £539 down to £280. Alternatively, you could have a look at the Remington Limitless X9 Rotary Shaver, which costs £199.99 from Boots.
