Goedert signed a four-year, $57 million contract in 2021, keeping him in Philadelphia through the 2025 season.
However, the Philadelphia Eagles had multiple offers on the table for Goedert and were considering trading him.
The team kept him informed with their decision making though, and eventually agreed to a restructured contract.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane, Goedert’s 2025 compensation has been reduced from $14.25 million to $10 million.
He can add another $1 million in incentives through good performances.
Goedert didn’t have his best season in 2024, but struggled with injuries throughout the campaign.
He played in just 10 games, compiling 496 yards and two touchdowns.
Had he played a full season, that would have been on pace for 843 yards and three touchdowns.
That would have been his highest career yardage total.
While Goedert missed some time in the regular season, he returned for the playoffs and had a spectacular Super Bowl run.
In four games he went for 215 yards and a touchdown, helping the Eagles win the Super Bowl.
Goedert has a career total of 4,085 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns in seven years with the Eagles, and he will get a chance to expand upon those numbers in 2025.
Eagles fans are thrilled to have Goedert back, and shared their thoughts on social media.
“Eagles are going to be a dangerous team yet again!” one fan said.
