‘Perfect Match’ star Kaz Bishop defends connection with Micah Lussier amid criticism (Exclusive)

“Perfect Match” star Kaz Bishop is defending his connection with Micah Lussier after fellow contestants doubted his intentions in the finale.

Kaz told the Daily News the other contestants questioned the relationship because they didn’t understand the depth of his private conversations with Micah.

“I knew that there was a lot of eyeballs on me and Micah and how, like, we sort of got on in the house,” he said. “But there’s a lot of things that happened behind closed doors between us. We had a lot of pillow talk. We just got on very well. And we had our own banter, you can say.”

“That was a different level that didn’t get expressed to everyone else and they didn’t get to see it,” he added. “So yeah, I was defending a lot of the time our status and what was going on.”

Although it’s unclear if the couple stayed together after cameras went down, Kaz said he isn’t letting chatter about his character get to him: “You got to just take it with the punches. You’ve got to roll with it and just take it for what it is.”

Contestants in the villa grew suspicious of the strength of their connection after Kaz broke up with Micah to test the waters with a new addition to the house, Christine Obanor.

But after realizing things with Christine weren’t secure after she was sent on a date with Nigel Jones, Kaz told Micah he made a mistake and that he wasn’t over her. Subsequently, Kaz and Micah got back together, causing a stir in the house.

In the finale episode, multiple castmates made it clear they were skeptical of Kaz, with Christine even calling him a “gaslighter.”

“He’s trying to make it seem like it’s nothing, nothing between us,” Christine told fellow contestants. “But it’s messed up because it’s like I came in, I saw him, I knew I wanted him. So why did he choose me?”

Christine also called him a “scammer,” adding he deserved to be matched with “the devil himself.”

Kaz meanwhile told the Daily News he feels he and Micah were a target because of their strong bond throughout the show, which sees the couple voted “most compatible” winning a free vacation.

Viewers can stream both seasons of “Perfect Match” on Netflix.
