People 'hooked' on delicious and healthy Turkish pasta that's ready in 10 minutes

This viral pasta recipe has people “hooked” as they claim it’s the tastiest dish they’ve ever eaten.

Let’s face it, pasta can be a bit boring. It’s a staple carbohydrate in many of our homes, and it’s famed for being quick and easy to rustle up, but unless you’re getting super fancy with your sauces then it’s not the most exciting dish in the world.

If you’re bored of the traditional tomato-based sauces or carbonara, then look no further – as we’ve got the perfect alternative pasta dish that might just blow your socks off.

A recipe for a dish simply referred to as “Turkish pasta” has been going viral on social media recently, with those who have tried it claiming they’re “hooked” on the delicious meal. What’s more, it’s said to be relatively healthy – especially if you choose to use wholewheat pasta – and only takes as long as your pasta takes to cook.

The recipe was first shared on TikTok by Anna Paul, who filmed her mum making the dish and said it’s “really easy” to make.

Anna did not share any measurements for the recipe as she said her family usually just “eyeballs it”, but she said that while the water for your pasta is heating up, you should start by cooking some mince. She did not specify if it was beef or lamb mince, but you could use either, depending on your preference.

Her mum then added a tiny sprinkling of curry powder, which she believes helps to get rid of the “weird meat flavour” left behind by the mince. She also highlighted the importance of not adding oil to the frying pan, as the meat “has its own oil”.

Next, black pepper, onion powder, sweet paprika, and salt were all added to the mince. Finally, Anna’s mum threw a chopped onion into the pan and cooked it until it was “basically crunchy”.

Then, it was time for the most important part – the sauce. The recipe does not call for a traditional pasta sauce but instead uses cold Greek yoghurt with a few added ingredients to make it more savoury.

Anna said: “This is just Greek yoghurt, and you can just mix this straight into the container. Basically you add salt into this and about [three cloves of] garlic, but you can choose how much you want. We squish the garlic through the mincer straight into the container, but you can do it however you like. Mix it together, and that is it. That’s how you make the sauce.”

She added that her family makes the dish “all the time” because it comes together in a matter of minutes and is “so easy”.

The last step is to make a “butter sauce” by simply melting some butter and mixing in some paprika. Once that is done, it’s time to plate up. First add the cooked pasta to a bowl, then a healthy dollop or two of Greek yoghurt, followed by plenty of mince. Drizzle with the butter sauce and finish with some fresh tomatoes and chopped parsley.

Anna added: “If you love a Mediterranean vibe, if you love a kebab vibe, anything like that, that’s what this tastes like. It’s so good.”

Commenters on her video were in agreement, as many said they’ve been “hooked” on the dish ever since they tried it themselves. Anna’s first video on the recipe already has over 11 million views, while a follow-up clip talking about the viral reaction has another 6.7 million – and even more people in the comments praising the recipe.

One person said: “I made this Turkish pasta recipe and swear to you, I was hooked!”

Another added: “Made this today and I thought it was fantastic and simple. Thanks for sharing!”
