And Mahomes had a message for Rory McIlroy after the Northern Irishman’s sensational Masters win.
McIlroy led by as many as four shots on the back nine before seeing his lead wiped out.
He took a one-shot lead down the 18th but still failed to hold on.
But the 35-year-old finally won the Green Jacket on a playoff against Justin Rose.
Mahomes was on social media for a lot of the afternoon as a barely-believable day of golf unfolded.
And when the final putt went down, the Chiefs quarterback sent a one-word message to the winner.
“Congrats,” Mahomes said to the new Masters champion.
The three-time Super Bowl winner tweeted a number of times through the course of the afternoon.
“Bout to be an all time finish,” he said as the players headed to the back nine.
McIlroy inexplicably hit a pitch shot into the water on 13 to take a seven on the hole.
He then rebounded with a superb approach on 15 which drew huge cheers from the patrons.
“Oh my what a golf shot,” Mahomes posted.
McIlroy just needed a par on the 18th hole and crushed his tee shot.
But he hit his approach into a bunker and ended up missing a five-foot putt for the win.
“Wow. Wow. Wow,” Chiefs star Mahomes said.

McIlroy held his nerve in the playoff and broke down in tears after his victory.
He became just the sixth golfer ever to complete a career grand slam of all four major titles.
And the emotion took over McIlroy after years of missed opportunities to win more majors, including the Masters.
“Great golf,” Mahomes said as he enjoyed his afternoon.
Mahomes is usually the one providing sports fans with Sunday afternoon entertainment.
But he soaked up the roles revered moment on a pulsating day of action.
