Patio black and white spots get ‘blasted away’ with one kitchen item – no pressure washer

Patios, just like the rest of the garden, are something many households take pride and joy in so it can be depressing to see them covered in stains.

According to cleaning expert and director at Neeet House Cleaning, those pesky black and white spots on paving are a common issue but there is a way to “blast them away”.

So what causes those stains? Ross claimed: “Those spots are usually caused by a combination of factors, including moss, algae, and mineral deposits.

“Regular cleaning and prevention are key to keeping your paving slabs looking their best.”

When these nasty stains appear, Ross claimed that a “vinegar solution” can be effective.

Vinegar is a versatile cleaning agent that can be used for a variety of household cleaning tasks, including removing black and white spots from patios.

He said: “A mixture of vinegar and water can help lift the spots. However, test a small area first to ensure it doesn’t damage the paving.”

The acetic acid in vinegar breaks down the dirt and grime on the surface, making it easier to clean.

To prepare a vinegar solution for cleaning your patio, you will need to mix equal parts of water and white vinegar.

If you are dealing with stubborn spots, you can increase the concentration of vinegar in the solution.

However, it is important to test the solution on a small, inconspicuous area of the patio before using it on the entire surface.

When using vinegar to clean your patio, it is important to apply the solution evenly and thoroughly.

You can use a mop, a sponge, or a spray bottle to apply the solution to the surface.

If you are dealing with stubborn black and white spots, you can let the solution sit on the surface for a few minutes before scrubbing it with a brush or a scrubber.

To prevent patios from these pesky stains, Ross recommends routine cleaning with a hose and applying a sealant to protect it from future stains and make cleaning easier.
