Pat McAfee in new theory over close pal Aaron Rodgers’ mystery ring after NFL legend sparked marriage rumors

PAT MCAFEE has given his two cents on why Aaron Rodgers was seen wearing a mystery ring at the Kentucky Derby.

The legendary NFL quarterback was seen sporting the new piece of jewelry on his left finger on May 2, sparking marriage rumours.

Rodgers revealed last year that he is in a relationship with a woman named Britanni.

The 41-year-old has previously been engaged to actress Shailene Woodley.

And fans spotting the ring where buzzing on social media as they discussed his potential marriage in a secret ceremony.

But according to the Daily Mail, sources close to Rodgers have insisted he has in fact not tied the knot.

Instead, it is thought Rodgers could have been wearing a “promise ring”, symbolizing his commitment to his partner.

Subsequently, McAfee has hypothesised how Rodgers could have been proposed to, in a change to traditional gender roles.

McAfee said: “It looked like it was a wedding ring or maybe he got engaged to.

“Maybe somebody got engaged to him.

“Maybe they flipped the script and said: ‘Who says it has to be one way to the other?’

“Maybe somebody got engaged to him and said: ‘Aaron, will you take this ring and be with me forever?’

“And Aaron said ‘yes, I will’ and they’ll ‘I do’-it later… who knows?”

McAfee also considered how Rodgers could simply be ignoring social convention by going against the usual meaning of a ring finger.

Rodgers may even end up revealing the source of the ring on McAfee’s show.

A source added to the Mail: “Aaron is a very particular person.

“He will make his playing decision within the next few weeks, and if he is married, he will mention that on a future Pat McAfee appearance.”

Rodgers’ NFL future is currently up in the air.

He has been angling for a move to the Minnesota Viking, although the Pittsburgh Steelers are also very interested in signing him.

The Steelers waited until the sixth round of the NFL draft before picking Ohio State quarterback Will Howard, which could strengthen the case for a Rodgers move there.

Rodgers himself previously indicated he was in no rush to make a decision due to dealing with some personal matters.
