Paris Hilton’s ex-fiancé, actor Chris Zylka, turned himself in to authorities and has been charged with two felonies after allegedly assaulting cops during an arrest in his native Ohio earlier this month.
The “Leftovers” star, 39, surrendered to authorities Monday and has been charged with felony assault for elbowing an officer and attempting to commit an offense by trying to break into a vehicle during the Dec. 4 incident, a clerk at the Warren Municipal Court told TMZ.
Zylka was also charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and aggravated menacing — all misdemeanors.
The “Amazing Spider-Man” actor’s bizarre arrest in Warren, about 57 miles southeast of Cleveland, made news last week.
Despite the 32-degree weather at the time, Zylka was wearing neither a shirt nor shoes as he allegedly held up traffic at an intersection while authorities say he was trying to break into multiple vehicles and was trying to fight off authorities while “foaming at the mouth.”
Zylka finally calmed down after officers used a stun gun and paramedics administered the general anesthetic ketamine. Police bodycam video obtained by local station WKBN shows Zylka restrained and with a bloody nose as he’s being loaded into an ambulance.
Zylka’s arrest comes nearly nine months after his fiancée, actress Hailee Lautenbach, called off the wedding in March, a move she told TMZ “was the best decision I’ve ever made.”
The breakup marked a second failed engagement for Zylka, who was previously engaged to Hilton, 43. The socialite called off their would-be nuptials in November of that year after she realized cementing their “whirlwind romance” ultimately “wasn’t the right decision” for her.
