WHO doesn’t love a hearty pasta dish on the weekend?
What foodies may not love so much is having to deal with the sieve later, trying to get rid of all the food bits, as well as the washing-up liquid that takes forever to come off.

Luckily, one man has taken to TikTok after his savvy grandma explained how to rinse the sieve properly – and not only it’s effective but the easy solution takes just seconds.
Sharing the game-changer of a trick online, Arek Streich, originally from Poland, revealed how a common kitchen utensil speeds up the process in no time.
In the video, Arek, who works as a coach, first showed viewers how most of us rinse the sieve simply by putting it under the tap.
But while this method does work, there’s no denying that it’s not the most effective – not just in terms of time but also how much water you’ll be wasting.
However, turns out, there’s a quick solution – turning the sieve upside down and placing a spoon between the tap and the mesh surface.
As the water hits the spoon, it will immediately expand and create a waterfall-like effect from all sides.
In just a few seconds, all the soap had vanished from the sieve, saving Arek heaps of time.
Uploading the clip on social media, Arek said: ”Babcias [Polish for ‘grandma’ know best… especially when it comes to kitchen hacks.
”If your sieve is full of gunk after meal prep and blasting it with the tap takes forever and sprays mess everywhere, use a spoon to break up the water flow.
”Cleans faster with zero chaos,” he wrote in the caption of the video, which has racked up close to a whopping 1million views in just three days.
‘Actually a great tip’
The informative video, which was posted under the username @arek.streich, has clearly impressed many, as it’s won Arek 35k likes, more than 2,500 shares and a staggering 424 comments.
Hundreds flooded to comments to thank Arek – and his nan – for the handy tip.
