Team GB will be desperate to add to their growing tally of gold medals as the Olympics enters its seventh day. There were no British golds on Thursday but the women’s four secured silver and there were bronze medals in both the men’s four and the women’s double sculls.
Another action-packed schedule on Friday will present gold medal opportunities in swimming, rowing and diving. Emily Craig and Imogen Grant are the big favourites in the women’s lightweight double sculls after breezing through their heats, with the final set to take place before midday.
The athletics events will also get underway with Keely Hodgkinson among the main contenders in the women’s 800 metres. Elsewhere at the Games, swimming sensation Leon Marchand is looking to complete a perfect home Olympics as he targets a fourth gold in the pool.
