Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dropped clue over next Manchester United signings – Darren Bent

That is according to former Tottenham and Sunderland striker Darren Bent.

Manchester United announced on Friday they have agreed a deal to sign winger James from Swansea.

The 21-year-old has only played one full year of professional football but United have seen enough to pay £15million for him.

Bent is a fan of James, who scored five goals for the Swans last season.

And he says it shows United boss Solskjaer is looking at bringing in younger players this summer, rather than proven quality.

“I really like him,” Bent said on Sky Sports News.

“What I like about him is how fast he is.

“He’s got electric pace but he’s a good finisher as you can see with that chance there.

“He’s direct, he gets at people with the ball and it’s a really good signing.

“It kind of shows the direction Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is going for.

“He’s young, exciting, British talent and for me he’s the right signing.

“It came out a bit of a surprise because you’d think more so that Manchester United were more going to concentrate on getting players out.

“They’ve got so many players there that people have said they need to leave the football club.

“I think it’s a statement of intent from Ole by going to get this youngster.

“I really, really like him.”
