Off-duty NYPD deputy inspector busted for DWI in Brooklyn

An off-duty NYPD supervisor was busted in Brooklyn for drunken driving Friday, police said.

Deputy Inspector Dennis Gray, 52, was arrested about 3 a.m. at Atlantic Ave. and Cumberland St., near the Barclays Center.

Police did not immediately have further details about the circumstances that led to the arrest.

Gray, a 28-year veteran, was charged with DWI and driving while ability impaired and was suspended without pay.

Gray is assigned to the NYPD Employee Assistance Unit, which, among other things, provides resources and assistance to families of wounded and slain officers.
