‘Nothing works better’ to lift toilet seat stains than 38p item cleaners dub game-changing

Toilet seat stains are ever-present enemies in the bathroom, often caused by a medley of product residue, splashes of urine, tanning lotions, shed skin cells, mineral build-up and some harsh cleaners.

From hues of orange to yellow, brown, or green, these stubborn marks vary, signalling their different origins.

In pursuit of pristine whiteness, a professional cleaner sought the sage wisdom of a Mrs Hinch-inspired Facebook group, querying about how to banish yellow stains from her new client’s loo.

Alongside the picture of the stained toilet seat an anonymous user posted, they wrote: “Hello, can anyone tell me how to get rid of this? Just started a new client and would like to try and get rid. Thank you.”

To conquer the unwanted dyes, many advocated for a budget-friendly saviour – something called a “magic eraser”.

Karla Taylor said: “Magic erasers 100 percent. I have two boys and a hubby that seem to piss everywhere and it’s the only thing I use.”

Catherine King recommended: “A magic eraser, no cleaning products needed. You just wet the eraser. I use the Elbow Grease ones as they are thicker. Good luck.”

Janet Leith said: “Magic eraser sponges are game-changing.” Lemma Ryley replied: “I second this. Nothing worked better to get rid of the stuff than a magic sponge.”
