KAY ADAMS was forced to stand up for top-rated draft prospect Shedeur Sanders after he came in for unnecessary criticism over his outfit during an interview.
Adams went to battle for Sanders after the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback was criticised for wearing a hoodie during their video interview on her Up & Adams show last week.

Sanders, 23, is one of the most talked about players heading into next week’s NFL Draft and has been pulled from pillar to post for interviews and media duties in the build up to the Green Bay event.
The star QB could go as high as third overall pick with the New York Giants holding a private practice session for him, despite signing Russell Wilson to a $10.5m one-year deal last month.
While the New Orleans Saints remain one of the favourites to snap him up at ninth, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping he could still be available down at 21.
That attention, coupled with the extra noise around his superstar dad Deion Sanders, means that the Texas-born thrower has been the subject of some unwanted criticism.
That included fans getting at him for wearing a hoodie during his chat with Adams, something the NFL presenter cleared up in a passionate defence of the future league passer.
Speaking to Joe Klatt on Up & Adams, she said: ” I will say he was at the airport, he had his hood on, he was being so low key.
“He just left the Pittsburgh facility and he was around tons of people trying not to be seen, to be respectful of me. Not the ideal situation he would have wanted for an interview.
“And the amount of crap and just like, people with their comments about his hood and that is why I love him.

“Because there was no reason for him to get that and he was getting it. I don’t think any other player that could have shown up that way, nobody cared about the context.
“Everyone just made a judgment like, ‘take your hood off that’s disrespectful’ or ‘he’s not speaking loudly.’
“He took the time at an airport, three seconds out of his huge day with [Mike] Tomlin and the Steelers to talk about it.
“In that moment, everyone is so critical and I hate everyone for that and so I champion him.”
Sanders is thought to be admired by Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, who was left impressed after his visit to the Pittsburgh facility last week.
NFL Draft insider Todd McShay revealed that Tomlin “really likes” Sanders.
He said: “I am told … and I tend to trust where I’m getting this information, Mike Tomlin really likes Shedeur. If he’s there at 21, Shedeur could very well be a Pittsburgh Steeler.”
While Sanders had a similar view of the situation when he spoke about the visit with NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
He said: “It was great, the Steelers were great. I understand them. I understand why they win so much.”
