A magnitude 4.8 earthquake just hit New York City, causing entire buildings to shake and food to fall off shelves.
Residents have reported “violent” shakes that were felt from New York City to Connecticut and Boston.
Daily Express US reporter Isabelle Durso said: “My whole building started shaking super violently, some of our food fell off the shelves. It was really scary.
“All my friends in NYC felt it, and my family in north Jersey felt it, and in Connecticut and Boston. I’ve never experienced something like that before.”
