A NEW airline has released tickets for its very first flight from Glasgow to New York.
Global Airlines is gearing up for its very first transatlantic journey next month and has started selling tickets, with the cheapest seat costing £778.

The maiden flight for Global Airlines will be from Glasgow to New York and tickets are now on sale.
A “Global Traveller” (economy class) return ticket is selling for £778. business class is £3,700, while first costs £7,127.
At 9am on April 15, 2025, the online seat map shows two of the eight first class seats filled, according to The Independent.
The Airbus A380 is scheduled to leave Glasgow at 11am on May 15, 2025 and will arrive at JFK Airport seven hours later.
The next flight leaves Manchester two days later, on May 21, 2025, for another four-day trip to New York.
No other airline currently flies direct from Glasgow to New York City but Virgin is selling return economy tickets from Edinburgh for £400 for the same dates (although this does not include checked baggage).
Global Airlines offers the option of first class, business class and economy to its flyers.
It describes economy class as a “balance of affordability and quality” where “comfort and value intertwine effortlessly.”
The airline is hoping to eventually establish an entire transatlantic flight network.
Global Airlines was founded by passionate traveller James Asquith back in 2021.

James Asquith, has promised a “return to the golden age of flying”.
He has also claimed there’ll be better food and drink on offer, as well as a more luxurious flying experience overall.
He told the Times last summer: “People are sick and tired of the service they get on current airlines. We will be better.”
Part of the airline’s classier offering will include Laurent-Perrier champagne – even for those flying in economy.
And first-class ticket holders will be entitled to chauffeur-driven airport transfers along with “proper social space” on board.
Alongside affordable tickets, the airline previously told passengers that they will “feel a million dollars” when flying on their planes.
Global Airlines has partnered with Portuguese charter airline Hi Fly to run the first two flights.
The start-up airline acquired at least five Airbus A380s throughout 2023, with the airline purchasing its own aircraft in 2024.
