New map reveals true capabilities of Ukraine's drone strikes in fresh blow to Russia


Reports of the incident have also surfaced on social media, with one user sharing a map of the distance travelled by the drone, and another sharing a video of the strike on Elabuga.

Anton Gerashchenko shared a video from Russian media outlets on X, adding: “Russian media report a drone attack on Elabuga in Tatarstan, Russia. There is an assembly plant for the production of Iranian Shahed drones in Elabuga. The city is located 1,200 km from the border with Ukraine.”

The video shows what looks like a plane crashing into the assembly plant before erupting into flames and sending plumes of grey smoke into the air.

Men can be seen watching the attack, dropping to the ground and covering their heads in an attempt to protect themselves when the impact occurs.

Tass, a Russian state-run news agency claimed at least seven people had been wounded in the caught-on-camera strike, including two teenagers.

Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said: “Most of the drones that attacked Russian oil refineries have a range of 700 to 1,000 kilometers [435 to 620 miles], but now there are models that can fly more than 1,000 kilometers.”
