New Jersey’s Liquid Church will host an “Epic Easter Egg Drop” following weekend services at four of its churches and an Easter egg hunt at three of its locations.
“Thousands of colorful Easter eggs filled with candy and prizes for kids,” will be dropped from a helicopter over Liquid Church Garden State locations in Princeton, Parsippany, Wayne and Mountainside.
Kids 12 and under are eligible to participate. There’s no charge, but reservations are required. Easter baskets will be handed out following Saturday and Sunday sermons, which are scheduled to last a little over an hour.
Liquid Church operations in Parlin, Somerville and Garwood will host multiple traditional Easter egg searches, the fast-growing ministry said. There will be no helicopters at those events.
Kids who want to chase down eggs—whether hidden on the ground or dropped from a chopper—should come dressed for the task at hand.
“There’s no dress code or fancy requirements to visit our church,” Liquid Church says on its website. “Feel free to wear your ‘Easter best’ or dress down and be comfortable.”
The National Weather Services is forecasting clear skies and temperatures in the 60s for most of New Jersey over the weekend. Rain will likely return next week.
The Parsippany-based parish will host a total of “27 family-friendly” masses over the Easter holiday. Organizers plan to give away about 75,000 prize-filled eggs overall.
