NBC SPORTS has made a major broadcasting change which will bring back an NBA legend from the dead.
The network is preparing to resume coverage of basketball next season.

And fans are set to be treated to the return of anthem Roundball Rock.
However, that’s not the only exciting feature that NBC are bringing back.
They will also restore the voice of iconic narrator Jim Fagan.
That’s despite the icon passing away in 2017 with Parkinson’s Disease.
Fagan was one of the most well-known voices in the NBA community.
But NBC have agreed with his family to recreate his voice digitally using artificial intelligence.
And Fagan will now be heard on all promotional coverage for the next NBA season.
NBC Sports president Rick Cordella said: “For many basketball fans, Jim’s unique and recognizable voice immediately conjures a deep sense of nostalgia for a special time in NBA history.
“His voice perfectly captured the magnitude of the heavyweight matchups and stars that he was introducing.”
Unfortunately for NBC, a previous clip of them using an AI version of Fagan’s voice did not go down well with fans.
One said: “You can’t find a living announcer? You’ve got to zombify a legend? AI is the worst.”
Another declared: “In poor taste and weird, please stop doing this.”
One added: “Besides AI sucking I feel this is a signal they’re going to rely solely on nostalgia in terms of marketing and branding.”
