Edwards was fined by the NBA for his “inappropriate” and “obscene” taunts towards Lakers fans in Game 1 of their play-off series
The incident ended up costing the shooting guard $50,000, but Minnesota secured a 117-95 win at the Crypto.com Arena.
Edwards, who finished with 22 points, was caught on camera late in the third quarter grabbing his crotch by the scorer’s table.
He appeared to tell a Lakers fan: “My d*** is bigger than yours”.
But he won’t mind too much, with the Timberwolves currently leading the No.3 seed Lakers 3-1.
Edwards has been utterly sensational, scoring 42 points in Game 3, before 43 points in Game 4’s win at the Target Center.
His latest ticket marks the seventh time Edwards has pulled out his checkbook this season and paid a fine to the league office.
Edwards has been previously fined by the league for obscene gestures and profane language.
On another occasion, he was booked for failing to leave the court in a timely manner after being ejected.
That night also saw him through the ball into the stands.
He leads the NBA in two very different categories this year: technical fouls and fine money.
Edwards’ 17 technical fouls beat out Dillon Brooks’ for the league lead by one and caused him to miss a game in March after crossing the threshold.
But the Minnesota star can definitely afford the fines.
He is in the first year of a five-year, $245 million extension he signed in 2023.
His contract sees him net $42.2 million this season and $514,634 per game.
He led the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals last year, sweeping the Phoenix Suns and defeating the reigning champion Denver Nuggets before falling in five games to the Dallas Mavericks.
Meanwhile, Hornets guard LaMelo Ball and Grizzlies guard Ja Morant were each fined $100,000.
Ball’s fine money comes from one violation early in the season for using language people considered homophobic in a postgame interview.
Morant was fined for making finger gun gestures at players while having a history with firearms.
