Mystery as Russia's Black Sea Fleet 'missing' from Crimea after Ukraine attack

The Ukrainian Navy has revealed that Russia’s Black Sea Fleet is completely “missing” from its waters following an attacked on annexed Crimea.

On Wednesday, the navy detected no signs of Russian warships in the Black Sea or the Azov Sea, which comes after the strike using US-supplied Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS).

The press service of the Ukrainian Navy said: “In the Black and Azov Seas [the] enemy ships are missing.”

This is just days after Russia accused Ukrainian forces of launching an ATACMS strike from the southern region of Kherson overnight on Monday.

Vladimir Rogov, chairman a pro-Russian group, said on Telegram: “Tonight, militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a missile attack on the Republic of Crimea.”
