Motorist's genius hack to stop people parking way too close to your car every time

Motorists are all too familiar with the struggle of squeezing into their cars in tight parking spots, especially when another driver left barely an inch to spare, risking door scratches and frustration.

But one ingenious motorist has devised a novel way to keep others from parking too close for comfort. Drivers often use stickers to communicate with fellow road users, such as the well-known ‘Baby On Board’ sign to indicate a child is present.

One innovative driver, however, chose to place a different kind of notice on their vehicle not to safeguard children, but to make a personal request to other drivers.

This particular sticker was affixed to the driver’s side door for maximum impact, with a message that couldn’t be clearer: “Please don’t park too close. I’m FAT.”

The car sporting this candid appeal became an online sensation after a photo was posted on Facebook by a man who remarked, “Parked my truck next to this car today.”

The image quickly went viral, garnering over 36,000 reactions and a wave of comments commending the owner’s blunt approach. Many Facebook users felt a connection with the sentiment, with one person declaring, “I need this sticker!” while another empathised: “I have the same problem. I’d HATE to have My Junker DENT Your Newer Nice Vehicle.”

One individual, clearly fed up with inconsiderate parking, declared: “I am going to have to make those. This happens to me so many times. I had to one time wait for a lady to finish shopping because she parked so close to my car.”

Another person added a touch of humour to the discussion, saying: “I need this too! Not only am I fat but I have to sit sideways and turn into the vehicle to get in because of my bad hip! Lol I’m going have one made for me bahahaha.”

Pregnant women, too, can empathise with parking woes, as another woman shared: “When I was 9 month pregnant, some young kid parked so close to my car I couldn’t even open my door.

“I had to pregnant lady crawl into the passenger side to get out of my car. LOL. Needless to say, it’s given me a new perspective and I don’t mind parking in the back because you don’t know whose day you’re making harder by not being considerate.”

The demand for such stickers is likely on the rise, with many people probably searching online for their own copy!
