A woman was found shot to death in a park in South Jersey, police said.
Teaoshia Still, 36, was located in Waltman Park in Millville around 5:15 a.m. Saturday, the Cumberland County prosecutor’s office said in a Facebook post.
A jogger in the park about 40 miles south of Philadelphia located Still’s body and called police, according to authorities.
“Still sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” prosecutors wrote Sunday. “The Millville Police Department and Cumberland County prosecutor’s office are currently investigating the murder. No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing.”
The victim was a Millville resident, police said. A relative spoke with NJ.com and said Still was a mother of three children, with her oldest in college, and most of her family lived out of state.
“She was sweet, outgoing, very energetic,” the unnamed relative told NJ.com. “I just don’t understand. It’s crazy for somebody to just do that to her and leave her in the park.”
Investigators have not publicly speculated on a motive for the killing or on why Still might have been in Waltman Park.
At least one other person has been killed in Waltman Park in recent years. Chelmar Townsend, 14, was found dead in the same park in July 2023. Townsend was also shot to death.
No suspects have been arrested or charged in Townsend’s death, according to the Cherry Hill Courier-Post. At the time, police said Townsend was hanging out with friends when an argument erupted and someone pulled a gun. He took off running.
“They left him laying down in the park,” his father, Chellie, told Philadelphia ABC affiliate WPVI.
