Mortal Kombat 1 Ghostface release time, early access date and Fatality input

Mortal Kombat 1 fans are counting down to the release of the game’s newest guest fighter, as Ghostface from Scream joins the roster.

Armed with a knife and wearing the iconic mask and costume, Ghostface is the first of three guest fighters joining the game as part of the Khaos Reigns expansion.

Fans who own the Khaos Reigns expansion will get one week early access to Ghostface, beginning on November 26. While there’s no official release time, previous new Kombatants have typically been added to the game at 4pm GMT UK time.

If you don’t have the Khaos Reigns expansion and want to add Ghostface to your roster, you can purchase the character individually from December 3. Ghostface will be available for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

As you can see from the gameplay trailer below, the Mortal Kombat development team has paid homage to the Scream movies by actually having two fighters appear in the Ghostface costume.

This means that with a quick phone call, a second Ghostface will appear from behind and sneak attack the opponent.

The idea of having two Ghostface killers is also utilised in one of the character’s Fatalities, but we’ll let you discover that for yourself. Ghostface will also have an Animality finishing move.

In the meantime, here’s how to perform Ghostface’s Slashing the Fourth Wall Fatality. Daily Express will update this article with the character’s other finishing moves soon.

Another neat touch and nod to the movies is how a downed Ghostface will desperately crawl along the ground in pursuit of his opponent, finishing up with a stab to the foot before getting back up.

Otherwise, it’s pretty much as you can imagine, with Ghostface using a ton of brutal looking stabs and slashes to whittle down his opponent’s health.

The voice changer device also makes an appearance, although it kind of sounds like The Joker and not the killer from Scream.

Two additional guest fighters will join the MK1 roster in the coming weeks and months, including the T-1000 from Terminator 2 and Conan the Barbarian.

Seeing Arnie as Conan square off against the T-1000 should be interesting, so I can’t wait for that.
