Moment Russian tank obliterated in huge fireball during Ukraine precision drone strike

The moment a Ukrainian drone strikes and destroys a Russian tank triggering a massive fireball has been caught on camera. Dramatic footage shared on social media by Ukraine’s defence ministry shows an armoured vehicle stationary at the side of a track before being hit and going up in flames.

The unverified clip was shared on X on Monday (June 10) from the Defense of Ukraine account. It was posted with the comment: “Our drones will either find a way or make one. 46th Airmobile Brigade”.

The 46th Airmobile Brigade is based in Poltava and is part of Ukraine’s Air Assault Troops, originally formed in 2016 as the 46th Air Assault Brigade.

Kyiv has been boosting drone supplies to its armed forces in recent months as it seeks to make more use of unmanned vehicles in its war with Russia.

Ukraine has been trying to ramp up domestic arms manufacturing as both sides make greater use of drones to strike energy, military and transport infrastructure targets.

Ukraine is currently fighting to hold back a Russian push near its second-largest city, Kharkiv, less than less than 20 miles from the border.

The US and NATO allies have responded to the latest Russian offensive by allowing Kyiv to use weapons they deliver to Kyiv to carry out limited attacks inside Russia.

The move could potentially impede Moscow’s ability to concentrate its troops for a bigger offensive near Kharkiv and in other border areas.

Russian President Vladimir Putin responded by warning Moscow reserves the right to arm adversaries of the West worldwide. Putin also claimed Europe is “defenceless” against Russian nuclear weapons.
