Dramatic clips have shown Russian military vehicles being blown to smithereens – on the same day, Vladimir Putin lost more than 1,600 troops in 24 hours, according to Ukrainian figures.
The montage clip, shared on X by the Official page of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, shows Ukraine’s 67th Mechanised Brigade raining hell down on Russian tanks and armoured cars.
An accompanying comment observes: “The fighters of the engineering support group turn enemies to dust.”
Figures also shared by the Defence Ministry on X suggest Russia has lost an eye-watering 707,540 personnel since the start of the invasion in February 2022.
The latest data represents a surge of 1,660 in just one day.
Russia has also lost 9,238 tanks, 18,697 armoured vehicles, 20,249 artillery systems and large quantities of other materiel, according to Ukraine.
The 67th Mechanised Brigade of Ukraine is a newly established unit within the Ukrainian Ground Forces, formed as part of Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to modernise and strengthen its military capabilities amid the conflict with Russia.
Created two years ago in response to Putin’s invasion, the brigade is part of a broader initiative to expand Ukraine’s defensive and offensive operational capabilities.
Mechanised brigades such as the 67th are composed of infantry, armoured vehicles, and artillery support, designed to be highly mobile and capable of engaging in various combat scenarios, from defensive operations to swift, offensive manoeuvre on the front lines.
The 67th Brigade has seen action primarily in the eastern regions of Ukraine, where it has been deployed to counter Russian advances and reclaim occupied territories.
It comprises professional soldiers and highly trained volunteers who undergo rigorous preparation to handle a wide array of battlefield challenges.
The brigade exemplifies Ukraine’s adoption of NATO-aligned tactics and strategies, equipped with a mix of modern Western armaments, including infantry fighting vehicles, advanced anti-tank weapons, and drone technology.
The Brigade’s operational flexibility allows it to adapt quickly to the shifting dynamics of the war, making it a formidable force against both conventional and asymmetric threats posed by Russian forces.
Like other newly formed units, the 67th plays a vital role in Ukraine’s counteroffensive strategy. It is often tasked with pushing back against Russian fortifications and defending key territories.
The brigade is emblematic of Ukraine’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and is part of a larger movement to enhance the professionalism and resilience of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
With sustained support from Western allies and an emphasis on high morale and adaptability, the 67th Mechanised Brigade not only serves as a key component of Ukraine’s defensive efforts but also symbolises the country’s determination to stand firm against aggression.
