Moment England fan belly flops into German city fountain in his pants ahead of Euros clash

The centre of Frankfurt is buzzing with England fans today ahead of their second Euro 2024 game against Denmark.

England fans have been arriving en masse in the German city with one fan even taking to belly flopping into a fountain to the sound of supporters chanting “England, England, England”.

Videos show the fan hilariously standing on the side of a fountain, before outstretching his arms like a diver and flinging himself into the water.

Amongst the jubilant celebrations other England fans have also taken to jumping into the fountain much to the delight of fellow supporters.

The Daily Express’ Zak Garner-Purkis, who is at the scene, said “St George’s flags are painted on faces, bellies and cheeks and there are England shirts as far as the eye can see”.

He said: “England fans have already whipped there shirts off under the blazing heat in Frankfurt

“Several thousand fans have packed into Paulsplatz in the old town and are singing loudly

“A police van has arrived and is telling fans on a loud speaker to go to the fan park which can handle larger crowds.”

Supporters are also being warned by police they need to leave the city “at the latest by 3pm to make it to the stadium” amid fears of a repeat to the transport chaos which dogged England’s opening game.

Frankfurt is a sea of red and white with around 70,000 Three Lions expected in the city-arriving from the UK and all around Germany.

Among the England fans, there are Millwall flags, as well as a number of Leeds United and Arsenal supporters.

Some 30 police officers are monitoring the England supporters, some from vantage points, others dispersed within the crowd, as they look to ensure no repeat of the ugly scenes in Gelsenkirchen on Sunday when a bar was smashed up ahead of the game with Serbia.

Two German fans walking past the square told the Express: “We like the England fans, they are cool.

“The atmosphere is better here than with the German fans.”

In Gelsenkirchen, England started their Euro 2024 campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Serbia with the team looking for another three points today.
