On Tuesday night, Qerim posted about Endometriosis Awareness Month.
Part of her post was revealing that she underwent surgery for the disease after battling it for 12 years.
“I really hesitated on posting this, b/c I’m a very private person…but if I can help even 1 person…it’s worth it,” Qerim wrote.
“Dr Kanayama, you are an answer to 12 years of prayer. THANK YOU. You are a miracle in my life, and more miracles to come.
“And for anyone dealing with a health scare right now, please don’t give up… keep advocating for yourself and know you can be fully restored, regardless of what the medical report says.
“Better days are ahead.”
The post included a picture of Qerim alongside Dr. Masahide Kanayama of the New York Endometriosis Center. He performed the surgery for her.
Endometriosis is a condition where abnormal tissue grows outside the uterus which can cause pain, irregular periods, and infertility, according to the New York Endometriosis Center.
Over 10 million women in the US are affected by the disease.
In her Instagram post, Qerim also shared a message that Kanayama sent her after the surgery.
“Surgery was super difficult and delicate, but God listened to your prayer, and I was supernaturally sustained with His wisdom and strength by God’s grace,” the message said.
“I have hundreds of pictures to show you and share info with you on Monday. Now my prayer is your smooth recovery!
“I really believe God himself has connected you to me to restore your precious life! Blessings!”
Qerim received an outpouring of support from fans in her comments after sharing her health battle.
“Dr K is truly doing God’s work. God bless him,” one fan said.
