Mikel Merino has reportedly informed Real Sociedad that he is keen to leave the club this summer.
The midfielder has been shortlisted as Arsenal’s top midfield target and talks have been ongoing since the conclusion of Euro 2024. However, a deal is not in place at this stage.
Sociedad are keen to retain the services of Merino and are demanding a fee in the region of £30million for the playmaker – a valuation which has not been met by the Gunners.
According to Spanish news outlet Diario, Merino has told the higher powers at Sociedad that he would like to leave the club and hopes that he has his exit facilitated.
