Leaving Neverland premiered on HBO in America and Channel 4 in the UK earlier this month. You can watch the two episodes of Leaving Neverland on Channel 4’s All4 website now. The documentary looks into the allegations of sexual abuse made against the King of Pop, all of which Jackson and his estate have strongly denied. The four-hour long documentary features Wade Robson and James Safechuck, plus members of their families, speaking about their experiences. Robson is now married with a son but who is his wife?
Is Wade Robson married?
Yes, Wade Robson from the documentary Leaving Neverland is married.
Wade is married to choreographer Amanda Robson.
The pair welcomed their son Koa in 2010 and currently live in Hawaii.
Wade and Amanda married in August 2005 after meeting when he was 19 and she was 22.
They met at a nightclub where Amanda was working as a host.
At the time, Wade was working as NSYNC’s choreographer
They were both hired by Britney Spears to direct and choreograph Spears’ promotional tour for her Circus tour.
IS JAMES SAFECHUCK MARRIED?
Amanda featured in the documentary, to speak about her husband’s allegations and how it impacted their family life.
In 2013, Wade claimed to his wife that Jackson had sexually abused him as a child from the ages of seven to 14.
Wade had previously denied that Jackson had sexually abused him and defended the singer during his 2005 child sex abuse trial alongside Macaulay Culkin and Brett Barnes.
Jackson was cleared of all charges relating to sexual abuse.
Speaking in the documentary, Wade admitted he sought therapy after the birth of his son when he suffered a nervous breakdown.
After some therapy sessions, Wade told his entire family about his alleged sexual relations with Jackson.
WHO IS BRETT BARNES?
Speaking in the documentary, Amanda detailed what happened after Robson spoke about his childhood memories with Jackson.
She said: “The abuse was a bomb that dropped in our life and exploded and ripped apart everything that we found sound and secure and safe.”
Wade also described in the documentary how his wife “caved in like she had been punched” when he told her of the alleged abuse.
After Wade told his siblings Shane and Chantel and mother Joy about the alleged abuse, Amanda banned her mother-in-law from entering their house for five months.
Instead, Joy had to visit her grandson in a nearby park with her son.
Amanda in the documentary emotionally justified her decision at the time, saying she did not understand how this could have happened.
In the documentary, Wade explained: “The idea of this truth coming out and Amanda knowing about it and my family knowing about it, and everybody in the entertainment business, in my career knowing about it, I mean, was just a ridiculous idea that was never going to happen in my mind. Because in my mind, my whole life would be over.”
WHERE IS HAYVENHURST HOUSE?
Who is Wade’s wife, Amanda Robson?
Amanda Robson is a choreographer and actress.
She is best recognised for starring in The Strip and The Richmond Family Massacre.
Amanda also worked as a choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance, where husband Wade was a judge.
With her husband, Amanda set up the Robson Child Abuse And Prevention Fund to help those who have been affected by child abuse.
Jackson himself and his estate have categorically denied all allegations of sexual abuse and the Jackson estate continues to do so.
Ahead of the documentary’s premiere at Sundance Film Festival in January, the Jackson estate issued a statement which read: “This is yet another lurid production in an outrageous and pathetic attempt to exploit and cash in on Michael Jackson.
“This so-called ‘documentary’ is just another rehash of dated and discredited allegations. It’s baffling why any credible filmmaker would involve himself with this project.”
